JUST CAN'T BREAK AWAY FROM THE 'PINKS AND BLUES'.

DOLL AND OUTFIT SOLD!

SORRY...DOLL AND OUTFIT SOLD!

I love adding the finishing touches to these beaded outfits almost as passionately as I love crocheting them, and here is the latest outfit I finished yesterday. Just making the purse took almost the entire day, however I love the final result! I have tons of pale blue cotton thread and thought I would try using the dark beads with the pale thread as it is next to impossible to find matching dark blue thread. Somehow I love the contrast created almost more than using the same color of beads as the background as don't you think the beading shows off better?

I am now finished two rows of my next outfit however I am using a different pattern for this one. And guess what the color is?

Yes, I also have many balls of pale pink cotton, but am using some plum beads for my next outfit as again I could not find matching thread.
I LOVE PINK! When I first started collecting dolls, I planned to dress all my dolls in pink dresses of course, but it never worked that way.

Here are some of my PINK sayings:

A profusion of PINK roses bending ragged in the rain speaks to me of all gentleness and its enduring. ~The Collected Later Poems of William Carlos Williams

“The rose is a flower of love. The world has acclaimed it for centuries. PINK roses are for love hopeful and expectant. White roses are for love dead or forsaken, but the red roses, ah the red roses are for love triumphant.”

"Slow buds the PINK dawn like a rose From out night's gray and cloudy sheath; Softly and still it grows and grows, Petal by petal, leaf by leaf.” Susan Coolidge

Completed NEW Fashion Doll, Eve

Another two dolls assembled!

I painted these dolls last month and finally assembled their bodies over the weekend. Two doll club members are interested in taking doll classes with me. This doll, Eve is 'doll-ightful' as she has an all porcelain body and a very nice doll to dress, display. I costumed both these dolls for Halloween. One Eve wears a leopard outfit and of course I wanted to make her 'purr-ty' so added the maribu to simulate a fussy cat tail...I only wished I had used GREEN eyes for her instead of the blue, but the blue ones are the only color I had in stock.
The other Eve is in a black dress, my 'good' witch. These dolls will be on my display shelf, but if anyone is wanting to purchase them, I will part with these and just have to make more.

Here is the latest doll orphan I adopted and dressed. I crocheted this outfit while I sat in the gazebo with my favorite friend, my puppy, Marlee ...well Marlee is not exactly a puppy but all you pet owners out there will understand why I always will call my bichon my 'baby'. no matter how old she is..my love!
I love pink as you can tell. In creating this doll outfit, I was thinking of my dear friend who suffered from breast cancer. Therefore, I am naming the doll Dianne in her memory. Dianne also loved collecting Barbie dolls, and it was so sad her life was shortened at 50 years old by this dreaded disease..
I enjoyed every minute of designing this outfit and styling the doll's hair. Ain't she pretty?
