Happy Thanksgiving

Even though it looks dreary and cold outside, Canadians will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day. Let us all reflect on the many reasons to be thankful.

Since 1879 when Parliament instituted Thanksgiving and observed originally on November 6th. Then in 1957, the date was set to be the second week of October (in Canada). Other countries, including the USA celebrate their Thansgiving on a different date.

Let us all be THANKFUL.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
During this special time of year, let’s take a moment and count our blessings.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep--- you are richer than 75 per cent of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in a dish--- you are among the top 8 per cent of the worlds wealthy.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness---you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation---you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful---you are blessed because the majority can but most do not.

QUOTATIONS:

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." Author: Melody Beattie

Look at what we have, not at what we don't have. Lord teach me where I need your touch the most.
